Today travel from Darwin across the Marrakai Plains and enter World Heritage Kakadu National Park. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre then join a guided cruise on Kakadu’s Yellow Water billabong. Keep a lookout for saltwater crocodiles and an abundance of birds. After lunch, travel to Nourlangie Rock and view galleries of ancient Aboriginal artwork. See art such as Namondjok, a painting some Aboriginal groups believe represents a Creation Ancestor who now lives in the sky and appears as a dark spot in the Milky Way galaxy. Stay 2 nights at Aurora Kakadu.

Arnhem LandDAY TWO - 4WD ARNHEM LAND.
Cross the East Alligator River into Aboriginal-owned Arnhem Land, one of Australia’s most remote regions. Travel to Mikinj Valley, with its escarpments, floodplains, outcrops and billabongs. With permission from the Manilakarr people, you’ll see places inaccessible to most. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn bush skills of hunting and gathering and how to prepare bush tucker. View Aboriginal art in its natural state. Most tours are led or accompanied by an Aboriginal guide.

Your guide will explain the Aboriginal culture of the region, its history and wildlife. Enjoy lunch in a bush setting then, on the return to Darwin, visit Window on the Wetlands and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you admire the changing light of day over the floodplain.
