Visit the famous Lady Knox Geyser before entering the awesome Waimangu Volcanic Valley.  In 1886, Mount Tarawera in Rotorua erupted, and destroyed the surrounding area.  The eruption opened the earth along a 10 ½ mile line (17 km), splitting Mount Tarawera in two, exploding Lake Rotomahana to 20 times its original size, and forming the seven craters that today make up the Waimangu Volcanic Valley.

Visit this amazing park to view colorful hot springs, pools and geysers before boarding a boat for a cruise on Lake Rotomahana.  The lake covers 15 craters and gives you the chance to view awesome geothermal sights, which can only seen from the water.  Enjoy a relaxing lunch at Lake Tarawera before visiting the Blue and Green Lakes.
