Today is all about exploring Queenstown. Enjoy a 1½ hour jet boat ride along the Dart River amongst towering mountains and the refreshingly beautiful wilderness of the Mount Aspiring National Park. Then take a short and easy walk, of 20-40 minutes, through ancient forests, unchanged for 80 million years.
In Glenorchy enjoy lunch at a historic pub with the locals. Drive to the top of Coronet Peak for great views over the Queenstown area, then on to enjoy a visit to Arrowtown. This town is an example of a living historic gold-mining town. Strict preservation orders protect the originality of the town's historic buildings, and the excellent lakes.
The last stop on the way home is the Amisfield winery.
