The 2011 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras has a series of huge events, cultural programs and parties. Our package has you in Sydney for the full-on Harbour Day dance party, up to the Great Barrier Reef to take in the Reef and the Rainforest, then back to Sydney for the Parade and 2011 Party. Don't miss a minute of the action!
In Sydney you’re staying at the Grace Hotel – beautiful 4 star Art Deco icon. On your first day in Sydney you'll take an afternoon cruise on Sydney Harbour. The following day is the Harbour Day dance party takes place all day and into the night on 27th February in Royal Botanic Gardens.
You’ll then fly up to Cairns – gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests. Here you'll stay at the Hotel Cairns. You'll take a full day cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef, including snorkeling, semi-submersible, underwater view platform and smorgasbord lunch. You'll take the Kuranda Scenic Rail journey into the mountains above Cairns, then glide over the rainforest in the Skyway Cable car, and spend the afternoon at Hartley Crocodile Adventures.
Then fly back to Sydney where you'll enjoy a small group tour to the Blue Mountains. The next day, get set for the 2011 Mardi Gras Parade followed by the 2011 Party. There is nowhere more fun to be gay (or straight!) than at the Mardi Gras Party! The Party attracts up to 20,000 people to a huge multi-venue site at Sydney's Entertainment Quarter. The Party is known for its huge shows and festival type atmosphere and runs throughout the night.
