The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras has a new format for 2010, lasting two weeks and punctuated by major events.
Parade and post-Parade Event - 27th February
Harbour ‘10 - 28th February
Party - 6th March
Our Beach Reef Party package has you in Sydney for the Parade and Harbour day, up to Australia’s holiday playground - the Gold Coast, and then the Great Barrier Reef before returning to Sydney for the Party on March 6th.
In Sydney you’re staying at the Grace Hotel – beautiful 4 star Art Deco icon. The Parade will take place on 27th February in the heart of Sydney's gay strip along Oxford Street. You can choose to watch it from the street, from a balcony, or from the fabulous BGF Glamstand (reserved seating and viewing area of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.)
Enjoy the celebrations at Harbour Day on the 28th before flying to Brisbane. You’ll pick up your rental car and head to the Gold Coast, where you'll stay at the very hip, very tall, Q1 Resort. The Gold Coast is home to Australia’s best surfing beaches.
You’ll spend 3 days here before flying to Cairns – gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Our package includes 4 days / 3 nights at the Hotel Cairns and a full day cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef.
Then fly back to Sydney for the 2010 Mardi Gras Party. There is nowhere more fun to be gay (or indeed straight) than at the Mardi Gras Party! The Party marks the end of the Mardi Gras Season and attracts up to 20,000 people to a huge multi-venue site at Sydney's Entertainment Quarter. The Party is known for its huge shows and festival type atmosphere and runs throughout the night.
